The bowls in Tamegroute that we suggest you and of which we are fall in love with the iridescent and deep colors, they are made entirely by hand. They are originals, they have a unique charm and are available in 3 sizes. You can use on any well-laid table to serve aperitifs, sweets, fruit or as a decoration or jewelry box or candy holder on a sideboard or side table.
The color varies from green to ocher and they are perfectly imperfect that is they can be characterized by small cracks, uneven or skipped glaze, characteristics that distinguish this type of ceramic with a Wabisabi taste, rustic and authentic. They come from Morocco in particular from Tamegroute village whose name literally means "last place before the desert". They are produced exclusively in this village which has jealously guarded the technique and formula of this ceramic since ancient times.
The families that produce this ceramic are 7 like the ovens in the village. The earth behind this ceramic is taken from the Draa river bed, worked by hand and on a lathe and left to dry in the desert air. Finally it comes enameled with an enamel containing manganese, silicone and copper which, during cooking which takes place in ovens dug into the earth, gives the green or iron to obtain the ocher color.
We hope that you too will fall in love with this special ceramic and its imperfections.
